Santa Anna
Santa Anna is an advanced ultra light aircraft with powered sailplane characteristics for personal low cost, quiet, long range travel using short unprepared airstrips. The wings remove for trailering.
The undercarriage is a retractable tandem main/nose wheel with outriggers. Safe low speed flight design uses moderate pitch control forces, a manually fixed vane double slotted flap with wing tip slots.
Construction is mixed composite for long fatigue life and corrosion resistance. The wings and stabilizer use wooden I beam spars with fiber glass stringer stabilized skins arranged in a multicell torsion unit. Control surfaces are kevlar skinned, mass balanced using push pull tubes. The fuselage is a wood/plywood semi moncoque structure.
